FAQs about COVID-19 and your Real Estate Education

At Jan Secor School of Real Estate, the safety of our students, instructors, and employees is a top priority. As we continue to closely observe the global concern over COVID-19, we are taking proactive measures to keep our students and community safe and to lessen the potential impact of the virus.

Given the circumstances around COVID-19 and the recent mandatory restrictions put in place by the state of North Carolina, Jan Secor School of Real Estate is suspending all classroom courses.

We are currently working with the commission and our instructors to determine options for resuming classroom learning. Below, you will find some important information about what this means for you:

How will my education be impacted?

Due to the recent recommendation from the NCREC, we will be suspending all in-classroom courses until further notice. We will be providing courses online, in a virtual classroom until we feel it is safe to reconvene in a classroom setting.

According to the recent update at

Are we able to take our classes online?

At this time, the North Carolina Real Estate Commission allows for courses to be conducted via synchronous learning online. This means, students and instructors are only separated by distance, not time. Classes will be taught via a live stream and students must “attend” the class during the scheduled time frame. It is NOT the same as an “at your own pace” class.

Right now, all courses that are scheduled will be taught via synchronous learning. You can sign up and pay online as if you were attending the class in person. A few days before the class is to begin, you will receive a link to access the online class.
